Update – July 1st 2017: Book manuscript progress

Ok, the structure of the book is now largely set. It has 3 parts ( past, present, future – for want of better titles ), although I may change this to 4 parts, because the first 2 sections of part one aren’t really about the past, they’re about developing the language and reference framework required in order to understand the rest of the book – ie they are a crash course in logic, maths, modelling, and science. Capitalism Breaches Human Rights

I have been saying for a while now that capitalism is in breach of human rights, according to the articles of the international declaration ( or charter ) of human rights ( link ).

For those of you unfamiliar with the document, I have made a summary of its points ( following ), but you can also read the full version online via the link above. Anyone else is free to skip past all that to here. Continue reading “Capitalism Breaches Human Rights”

The Anarcho-Capitalist Oxymoron

For those who don’t know, there’s a group of people who call themselves “ancaps” or “anti-capitalists”, and another group called “anarcho-capitalists” who typically invade ancap discussions, trying to take the title ancap away from the anti-capitalists.

Now, the problem here is that an anarcho-capitalism is an oxymoron, because anarchy is that which has no rulers, but capitalism is ruled by the banks and the other ultra-wealth … so there’s nothing remotely anarchic about capitalism.

author’s note

This general topic is covered repeatly from different angles in different posts, but the intended purpose of this article is just to go straight to the heart of the matter, with respect to the scepticism many people have, as to whether or not an Resources Based Economy is possible in any form.

But to argue the case for an RBE, we must also argue the case for how every other social system attached to the economic system will function in its absence. So this article also deals with how an RBE can deliver justice. Continue reading “Self-Sovereignty: Making Ecological and Social Justice Possible”

Anarchy: principled living without rules or rulers

Anarchy: better to die on your feet than live on your knees
[Republished – 2nd edit: March 16, 2017 – from original article April 2015]

author’s note

I suspect this is one of the biggest questions in people’s minds ( skeptics ), about how we can live in a non-hierarchical, non-authoritarian, completely anarchic world … the mainstream narrative tells us such a thing is impossible, and that anarchy is synonymous with chaos – but nothing could be further from the truth.
