Open Empire and voluntary population control

I’ve seen a lot of articles resurfacing where environmental changes have become an excuse for people to argue a case in favour of the draconian infringement of a woman’s right to self-determination when it comes to her reproductive capacity and desires for raising a family.

Now, I have my own opinions on this like everyone else, but as usual with Open Empire, I put my opinions aside (in the design mode) and ask the logic and science to tell me how the system has to function in order to deal with the issue without betraying its own principles. Anarchy and Order vs. Chaos, Control and Hierarchy

I thought it was perhaps worth writing some brief words on this topic, given how many people mistakenly believe that anarchy equates to chaos; which is of course completely untrue. Quite to the contrary, it is hierarchy that leads to chaos; for both chaos and control are tools of hierarchy, which are used to give people a perception of security, and are thus mislabelled as bringing “order”, which would be more aptly described as domination. Military activities and resourcing in an anarchic society

Having done a few other posts involving the manner in which I think a thermodynamic approach to extreme cases of justice involving the killing of other species, humans, and the progression from these ideas into the realm of militarism … I thought I’d finish off the sequence with one last post dealing with the purpose of militarism in such a future, and how it is resourced given the lack of a hierarchical executive controller (civilian or military). Warfare and Peace Keeping

I figured that a good extension of the previous articles (dealing with force, violence and a meat eating diet), would be to extend these ideas into an explanation of how Open Empire would deal with such things as warfare and peace-keeping … especially since such things are large scale issues that are not typically dealt with by other proposals of distributed economics and politics. Food Inc., veganism, and Open Empire

I’ve just started watching Food Inc. and it inspired the following article to help explain how Open Empire deals with lifestyle choices like diet (but in the greater context of the act of killing itself, and thus a follow on from the previous blog article) … because the present system is almost completely agnostic (not to mention hypocritical and selectively blind) about killing other species, but people within it are financially motivated to encourage you to make choices with negative ecological, ethical and social consequences … yet no one takes responsibility for those consequences, and the ongoing burden is something nature cannot handle … not to mention that it involves unspeakable levels of cruelty to other sentient species whom are out distant cousins. Force and Violence: personal freedom vs. social order

I guess I can understand why my crowdfunding campaign has not attracted enough support to do more than just take a bit of weight & pressure off me … because it is a huge vision, and complex … I dare say that despite working on it for so long, people probably still struggle to believe it’s possible for someone to figure out what I’m claiming to have figured out … but I guess that’s life, everyone views everything from their own beliefs, perspective & capabilities. Eliminating conflict

The shortest possible AND most probable of success pathway to elimination of conflict, is the pathway in which scarcity of resources is minimised. Conflict perhaps cannot be eliminated entirely, but it is universally tied to the availability of internal and external resources, where internal resources include such things as self knowledge, love, psychological maturity and emotional well-being. The Ultimate Social Blackmail, aka “god”

Those of you who see me post on religious topics may notice that I refuse to use a capital G in that word, and that I always put it in quotes … and there’s a couple of reasons for this:

  1. It’s a bullshit concept;
  2. You can never get a straight answer from a believer about what they mean by it, because whatever answer they give, if seriously challenged, will be immediately changed so that (in their minds) you can never defeat their shifting goal posts … which is inherently dishonest & unworthy of respect.
