Trickle-Down Economics: aka “pissing on your head and telling you it’s raining”

It’s astounding, but people today – despite everything they’ve seen – are still brainwashed by this idea, many of them even think they’re against it, state their opposition to it, then immediately afterwards demonstrate their support of it without realising they’ve done so … and that’s a pretty scary level of brainwashing.

What I’m thinking of here is a comment I saw recently to an article by GetUp Australia regarding Adani’s proposed Carmichael coal mine … where a few people in the comments actually argued in favour of the mine on the basis of ( you guessed it ) “jobs and growth”.

So let’s just deconstruct this quickly:

  1. They lie about the “jobs and growth”, never delivering what they promise
  2. The mines often pay little or no tax, taking most of the profits off shore
  3. The ecological remediation costs vastly exceed the economic benefits of the mining and its practices
  4. We then buy these minerals and resources back in the form of value added product imports ( which is stupid )
  5. They contribute nearly nothing to the ecological remediation compared to the damage they do
  6. For a mine to be reliable, it requires political stability, which is made possible by tax contributions to social services
  7. The minerals aren’t going anywhere otherwise ( being in this part of the Earth ), so if they want to mine these minerals, it’s not like increasing the taxes they pay will magically teleport those minerals into the ground in another country and they’ll just go mine them over there

So when you argue in favour of any form of mining for “jobs and growth”, you don’t mind these people are going to pay little or no tax – nor deliver the jobs promised ( again ) – then leave you with the cleanup bill, no more minerals to mine, and no revenue from the mining to build other industries … YOU’RE AN IDIOT.

Trickle down economics is a joke … they’re laughing at you … it’s a play on words that literally means “we are pissing on your heads, telling you it’s raining ( aka golden showers ), and you’re so fucking stupid you keep falling for it”.

There’s a saying you may have heard:

Fool me once, shame on you … fool me twice, shame on me.

So what do you say of people whom are continually fooled with the exact same playbook AND NEVER LEARN ( ? ) … well, they’re either psychological masochists who like getting pissed on, or they’re disingenuous arseholes whom are totally ok with all the bullshit …

… and this is where I turn my attention to warfare.

We were fooled when Gaddafi was labelled a horrible dictator, and we were told that freedom fighters were needing assistance against an attempted genocide … but it was a lie.

Some people weren’t fooled by this because they are older and remember the days of previous propaganda wars … some were not fooled because they were better educated earlier in life … but now that the internet has been around a while, we have less and less excuse for not seeing the truth, because all those past ( pre-internet ) cases are now both documented and publicly available, groups have formed which disseminate this information, and arguably it fits the observable facts far better than the mainstream narrative of the status quo.

  • Fighting terrorism is KILLING INNOCENT CIVILIANS
  • Trickle down economics is STEALING EVERYTHING FROM YOU
  • Mainstream media “news” is CORPORATE & GOVERNMENT PROPAGANDA
  • Religion is BRAINWASHING & INDOCTRINATION
  • Nationalism and “cultural traditions” are SOCIAL ENGINEERING
  • Advertising is COMPLETE AND UTTER BULLSHIT

This is the world we are living in, and this insanity is what they call “profitable”, because the economic system itself is so flawed that it has no capacity to disagree or moderate such insanity … to the contrary, it nurtures supports and rewards it.

Where do you think we are headed if we don’t change the underlying economic and political paradigms?
